First day and repeating cycle
How the repeating sequence works, how to add different shifts and what fixed days off change.
The reference date
The first day links a real calendar date to the first block of the cycle. For a 3/3/3/3 schedule, choose a date that was the first day of the first three-shift block.
A wrong reference date shifts the whole result, while changing the displayed year does not.
Building the sequence
- Add a work or rest block.
- Set the number of consecutive days in the block.
- For work, choose an existing shift or create one in advanced settings.
- Arrange blocks in the exact order in which they repeat.
Shift time and work after midnight
Each work shift can have a name, color, start and end time. If the end is earlier than the start, the shift ends on the next calendar day.
Hours and pay are then allocated to the actual dates and months.
Fixed days off
A fixed weekday can simply be marked as a day off, or it can shift the cycle. With cycle shifting, the missed workday is inserted after the fixed day off and the original sequence continues.
